## Why you would want it

Claude Code runs in the terminal, VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, a desktop app and the browser, and every surface shares the same CLAUDE.md files, settings and MCP servers. It plans multi-file changes, runs tests, stages commits and opens pull requests, and it can read an existing AGENTS.md. Subagents, skills, hooks and a non-interactive `claude -p` mode let you script it in CI, and the Agent SDK exposes the same tools for building your own agents.

## Use it when

You want an agent that works across a whole repo, runs your tools and handles git, and you have a Claude subscription or Anthropic Console account.
